Corner Farm in The Chilterns
The Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) covers 324 square miles of countryside, stretching from the River Thames in southern Oxfordshire up through Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire to Hitchin in Hertfordshire. It is one of 38 AONBs in England and Wales, which belong to the same family as National Parks. Its designation as an AONB in 1965 recognised that the Chiltern Hills contain some of the finest landscapes in the country which are worthy of protection at the highest level.
Spanning 800 acres of coniferous and broad-leaved trees, Wendover Woods has a labyrinth of footpaths, bridleways and trails perfect for trail running adventures.
At Corner Farm, you're in the middle of Buckinghamshire, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and a stones throw from Wendover. Straight onto the footpaths and bridleways of The Chilterns, Corner Farm is a secluded campsite with a border of quiet woodland.
Corner Farm, Kings Ash, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, HP16 9NP.
By Train
Getting to Corner Farm is super easy by train! Trains go direct from London Marylebone to either Great Missenden (40 mins) or Wendover (49 mins) and from either of these small towns it's less than a 10 minute taxi ride.
By Car
Type 'Corner Farm, Kings Ash, Great Missenden' into Googlemaps and it'll take you straight here. Please note the postcode will only take you as far as the houses in King Ash, and you'll need to continue for about 500m before reaching the farm. From here, just look out for the Love Trails signage for where to park.
Local Taxi
Prebook a taxi from Wendover Station with Wendover Station Taxis - 01296 695990 or from Great Missenden Stations with Kingshill Cars - 01494 868699.
Free parking is available to all Love Trails guests in the field right next to our camping field. For safety reasons, we cannot allow cars to park next to tents, but the fields are next to each other so you don't need to walk far with your stuff at all!
You'll need to bring enough food for the weekend, and you can stock up in Wendover at a Spar, Tesco, or Budgens in Wendover. Or you can make a trip to one of the quaint local pubs within about 2 miles from the campsite. In typical Love Trails On Tour format, we will be organising for a local food pop up on Saturday night, and details of this will be available early 2021.
This is not an exhaustive kit list, but we would recommend bringing the following with you on the weekend;
- Camping gear including tent, roll matt and sleeping bag - Towel & washkit - Small camping stove if you wish to make your own breakfast / dinners - Trail running shoes - A running pack / rucksack / race vest - Full waterproofs (you never know!) - Yoga matt / towel - Map of the local area and/or navigation device
You can pitch up at the campsite any time from 3pm on the Friday. But you can also join on the Saturday if that is easier
If the weekend is cancelled by us for any reason (including but not limited to Covid--19, ie government imposed restrictions that mean the event can't legally go ahead), you will have the option to receive a full cash refund.
Yes! However your dog will need to remain on it's lead in the campsite at all times.
Absolutely! We're a super friendly bunch of runners and always want to welcome people coming on their own. Due to the Government rules and restrictions, we aren't organising any official 'Guided Trail Runs' like you would usually see at Love Trails, but there will always be someone from the Love Trails team around and we are more than happy to help with routes and trail running. I will also be doing a map reading 'Drop In' on Saturday morning for any questions or queries about the routes.
Please email us hello@lovetrails.com and we'll be happy to help
